Today is a very exciting day. We have just taken delivery of the first ever Huxley jumper. Yes, it is a sample. Yes, we have some changes we need to make. But by and large we like it. It is the culmination of lots of research, hard work, sleepless nights, doubts, changes of mind, risks and inspiration. The sample in the photos above is actually a lovely deep purple (despite looking blue-ish in the attached photos taken on my iPhone). We are very pleased with the seam detail. Perhaps we don't want it to be showing on the front of the collar. We may have to tighten the fit a touch. We may slim the collar. But we are off! Next step is to get samples of each of the colours (as mentioned previously) which I will post as soon as we have them. Then, orders will be placed and we will be racing towards launch in August/September. How exciting...

It has been a while since the last blog post, which is bad, but there is a good reason. Huxley has been roaming around the UK visiting manufacturers and getting stuff done!

A jumper and a sock manufacturer have now been found and prototypes are in production. Things are looking good. Here are some photos from behind the scenes at our jumper manufacturer. As a newbie to the industry I was taken back by how many stages there are to the process and how "handmade" the jumpers still are. All the finishing and detailing are still done manually by lovely men and women from Hawick (in this instance).
